You see a Circus, I see...

Today, we read the book 'You see a Circus, I see...' by Mike Downs. We enjoyed the book and we noticed that the author had used rhyming words in his story.

Here is an example of what is written in the book:-

You see a juggler.

She grabs a broom and ball and chair;
Then tosses them into the air.
She performs this wondrous feat
Atop a unicycle seat.

I see my best friend.

In the Circus train we ride,
We live in rail cars, side by side.
Together we play cards or chess
And share our dreams of great success.

Using the extract taken from the book above, can you create your own two super verses about what 'You see in the Circus'?

Start your first verse with 'You see a ..' and start your second verse with 'I see a...'

We had an amazing day at Winter Wonderland!

What an amazing day we had at Winter Wonderland today! We saw so many things along the way.

In two weeks time we are going to be writing a poem based on the book 'You see a Circus'.

The Circus is all about enjoying and celebrating people's special talents. What's your special talent?

Are you good at singing, or dancing, or telling jokes? Perhaps you can do amazing forward roles or count to ten in a different language? Can you play an instrument or show off a fantastic sporting skill?

Whatever your talent is, we would like you to practise it and show us over the term. We can't wait to see them!

Our Circus role play day will now be on WEDNESDAY 7TH NOVEMBER, so we have more time to work on our costumes!

Today, year 2 took part in a FANTASTIC science workshop all about electricity. You really showed off all your learning- well done!

Year 2 had an amazing time at the Science Museum last Thursday. We learnt all about space in the 'Exploring Space' gallery and watched an interactive video about the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon in the IMAX cinema.
