Our Science topic this term is all about 'Materials'. So far we have recognised the differences between objects and materials and we have also discussed the differences between natural and man-made materials.
What different materials do you know?
Which of these materials are natural and which of these materials are man- made?
Welcome to Year 2's blog! Navigate through the pages to see all the super learning we have been doing in class, play the interactive games to consolidate your learning and answer all the questions we post on the blog to show off your understanding. Happy blogging :-)

Problem solving
We worked on our problem solving today in numeracy. Look at traingles solving theirs. Their question was: There are 5 paper plates and 15 counters in a cross. Can you..... Use all 15 counters. Put a different number on each plate. Make each line add up to 10.
What do you think of their problem solving skills?

What did you learn yesterday and today at STARSNAPPERS?
All the children at Woodmansterne have taken part in a photography workshop called STARSNAPPERS this week. Year 2 learnt how to take self portraits using a remote control, 'Hollywood' shots and even had the chance to dress up in a fancy hat...including the teachers and teaching assistants :-)

Great Fire of London workshop
We had a fantastic workshop by the Rainbow Theatre today, all about the Plague of 1665 and the Great Fire of London.
We all learnt so much about our new topic. What did you learn today?
My favourite part of the performance was when the people of London made rows to pass along the water, to put out the fire. What was your favourite part?
Here is our performance:
